Marketing communications, where offered, are handled separately from essential account and service messages and are subject to applicable consent requirements.

4. Our Legal Basis for Processing Information

Under UK data protection law, we process personal information where we have an appropriate legal basis.

These may include:

Contractual necessity: To create your account, provide planning features and deliver the services you request.

Legitimate interests: To maintain security, investigate technical issues, prevent misuse and improve the reliability of our services, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.

Legal obligations: To comply with applicable tax, accounting, consumer protection and other legal requirements.

Consent: Where consent is required, including for certain optional technologies or marketing communications.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

5. How We Store and Protect Your Information

HER Planner uses technical service providers to support application hosting, authentication, data storage and related operations.

Our application infrastructure includes Supabase for backend and database functionality and Vercel for web application hosting.

We use technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration and misuse.

These measures include account authentication, access controls, secure connections and appropriate restrictions on database access.

Access to personal information is limited according to operational requirements.

No online system can guarantee absolute security. We regularly assess our systems and work to address identified security risks.

6. Who We Share Information With

We share personal information only where necessary for providing, maintaining, securing or legally administering HER Planner.

Recipients may include:

  • Supabase: Backend infrastructure, database storage and authentication services.

  • Vercel: Web application hosting and deployment infrastructure.

  • Email service providers: Delivery of account verification, password recovery and service-related messages.

  • Payment providers and app stores: Processing payments, purchases and subscriptions, where applicable.

  • Technical service providers: Security, diagnostics, backups and operational support where these services are enabled.

  • Legal or regulatory authorities: Where disclosure is required by law.

Service providers may process information on our behalf under applicable contractual and data protection arrangements.

We do not sell your personal planner information to advertisers or data brokers.

7. International Data Transfers

Some service providers may process or store information outside the United Kingdom.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take steps to ensure that an appropriate legal transfer mechanism or other applicable safeguard is in place, as required by UK data protection law.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy.

Account and planner information is generally retained while your account remains active and is required to provide the service.

Technical and security records are retained according to their operational purpose and applicable security requirements.

When an account is deleted, its associated personal data is removed from active systems, subject to any information we are legally required or otherwise lawfully permitted to retain.

Some information may remain temporarily in protected backups until the applicable backup retention period expires.

Transaction records may need to be retained for applicable accounting, tax or legal obligations.

We periodically review information retention and delete or anonymise information when it is no longer required.

9. Your Rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law gives you rights concerning your personal information.

These include the right to:

  • Request access to personal information we hold about you.

  • Request correction of inaccurate information.

  • Request deletion of your personal information.

  • Request restriction of certain processing.

  • Object to certain uses of your information.

  • Request transfer of eligible information to another provider.

  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Some rights are subject to legal conditions and exemptions.

To exercise your rights, contact:

support@heraftermotherhood.com

We may need to verify your identity before responding to a request.

You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO):

https://ico.org.uk

10. Account and Data Deletion

You may request deletion of your HER Planner account and associated personal information.

Where an account deletion option is available within HER Planner, you can use that option to initiate deletion.

You may also request account deletion by emailing:

support@heraftermotherhood.com

Use the subject line: HER Planner Account Deletion Request.

Please send the request from the email address associated with your HER Planner account where possible.

We will take reasonable steps to verify your request and process deletion in accordance with applicable law.

Deleting your account means you will lose access to the associated planner information. Certain records may be retained where required or permitted by law, and backup copies may remain temporarily until their scheduled deletion.

Account deletion is different from cancelling a paid subscription. Where you have an active subscription, you may also need to cancel it through the relevant payment provider or app store to prevent future charges.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The web version of HER Planner may use cookies or similar technologies necessary for authentication, maintaining sessions, security and application functionality.

Where optional analytics or other non-essential technologies are used, we will provide information and consent controls as required by applicable law.

12. Children's Privacy

HER Planner is primarily intended as a personal planning and organisational service for adults.

It is not designed for children to independently create accounts.

We do not intentionally seek to collect personal information directly from children through child-operated accounts.

If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, please contact us so that we can review the matter.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to HER Planner, our service providers, legal obligations or information-handling practices.

When changes are made, the updated policy will be published on this page with a revised effective date.

Where changes materially affect how personal information is processed, we will provide additional notice where required.
